Valentina Carini was raised in Umbria, Italy, where she earned her BA in Media Studies from Bologna University.
Carini’s education led to a position at a national television network in Florence and even though she then moved to London to work as a young producer and director for MTV, taking the life path that was “seemingly right”, she felt deep inside unfulfilled and that something was missing.
Over time Carini realized and acknowledged her true calling and her journey as a practicing artist began.
After a summer Portfolio Preparation course at Central Saint Martins, an inspired Carini left her successful media career to attend a full-time BTEC Art Foundation studies Course at Kingsway College in London.
Carini recalls packing her work, two large canvases, and hopping on a bus.
Zipping about the streets of London she would soon be at Central Saint Martins where her work would be assessed for acceptance in the Bachelor of Fine Arts programme.
Carini was thrilled when accepted into the course.
She worked hard for three years on the intense but rewarding life-changing course and earned her second Bachelor’s degree. This one in Fine Arts and finally the right path.
Before returning to Umbria, Carini won the Kate Burton Award for Painting in London while organizing and participating in solo and group exhibitions.
She found her way to New York, USA and worked on a project with an assistant of Louise Bourgeois.
She currently lives and works in Umbria.
Valentina Carini’s work is in private collections in Italy, the United Kingdom and Hong Kong.
